Direction To Use

Step 1 – Prepare the Patient & Select Tray Select an appropriately sized stock or custom impression tray that covers all teeth and arch structures. Apply tray adhesive to the impression tray surface and allow it to dry for 2–3 minutes before loading. This step ensures the silicone impression material bonds firmly to the tray and prevents distortion during removal.

Step 2 – Prepare the Putty (Heavy Body) Dispense equal volumes of DPI Photosil Soft Putty base and catalyst. Mix rapidly with fingers or a spatula for 30–45 seconds until a uniform, streak-free colour is achieved. Avoid prolonged mixing, as this reduces working time. Load the mixed putty evenly into the impression tray.

Step 3 – Prepare the Light Body (Cartridge) Attach the mixing tip to the DPI Photosil Light Body cartridge and place it into the dispenser gun. Dispense a small amount first to clear any unmixed material from the tip. Apply the light body material directly onto the prepared teeth, margins, and gingival sulcus using the mixing tip for precise detail capture.

Step 4 – Take the Impression (One-Step Technique) Simultaneously load the tray with putty and apply light body onto the teeth. Seat the loaded tray firmly over the arch in one smooth motion. Apply even, steady pressure and hold without movement. The light body captures fine surface details while the putty provides structural support.

Step 5 – Wait for Complete Setting Hold the tray firmly in position for the recommended setting time (typically 2–3 minutes after initial set, following manufacturer's instructions). Avoid any movement during this period to ensure a dimensionally accurate, distortion-free dental silicone impression.

Step 6 – Remove the Impression Once fully set, remove the impression tray with a single, swift snap motion along the path of withdrawal. Do not rock the tray side to side. The high tear strength of DPI Photosil ensures clean removal even from undercut areas without tearing.

Step 7 – Inspect the Impression Examine the impression under good lighting for completeness, accuracy, and absence of voids, tears, or air bubbles — especially at tooth margins and the gingival sulcus. Retake the impression if defects are found in critical areas.

Step 8 – Rinse & Disinfect Rinse the dental impression gently under running water to remove saliva and debris. Disinfect using an ADA/CDC-approved immersion disinfectant suitable for addition silicone impression materials. Do not soak beyond the recommended time to avoid dimensional changes.

Step 9 – Pour the Model After disinfection, allow the impression to air dry briefly before pouring. Pour with Type III or Type IV dental stone within the recommended time frame for optimal dimensional accuracy. DPI Photosil's excellent dimensional stability allows pouring up to 24 hours after taking the impression.

Step 10 – Store Unused Material Correctly Replace the cap on the putty containers immediately after use. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not refrigerate. Attach a new mixing tip before each subsequent use of the light body cartridge.
