Step 1 — Ensure the porcelain jar is clean, dry, and free from any residual material before use.
Step 2 — Place the required quantity of polymer (powder) into the porcelain jar as per the material manufacturer's recommended ratio.
Step 3 — Add the appropriate amount of monomer (liquid) into the jar over the polymer slowly and carefully.
Step 4 — Hold the jar firmly on a stable, flat surface to prevent tipping during the mixing process.
Step 5 — Using a suitable dental spatula or mixing instrument, begin stirring the monomer and polymer together in a circular motion.
Step 6 — Mix thoroughly until all the powder is fully incorporated into the liquid and a smooth, lump-free, homogeneous mixture is achieved.
Step 7 — Allow the mix to reach the correct working consistency (dough stage) as required for the specific dental procedure.
Step 8 — Use the mixed acrylic material promptly for the intended laboratory or clinical procedure before it enters the rubbery or hard stage.
Step 9 — After use, clean the jar immediately by wiping out residual material with a gauze or tissue before it sets hard.
Step 10 — Wash the jar thoroughly with water and a mild detergent, scrubbing the inner surface gently with a soft brush.
Step 11 — Rinse well, dry completely, and store in a clean, dry place ready for the next use.
