Step 1 – Inspect Before Use Before each use, inspect the sheet for any tears, holes, or damage. Do not use a damaged sheet as it may not provide adequate surface protection.
Step 2 – Unfold the Sheet Carefully unfold the Mackintosh sheet and lay it flat to its full size before placing it on the surface.
Step 3 – Place on the Surface Lay the sheet over the dental chair headrest, instrument trolley, work surface, or any clinical area that requires protection from liquids, blood, or debris. Ensure the sheet is spread evenly with no creases that could collect fluids.
Step 4 – Secure in Position Tuck the edges of the sheet firmly under the surface or use clips/tape if necessary to keep it in place during the procedure and prevent slipping.
Step 5 – Use During Procedure Allow the sheet to provide full surface protection throughout the dental procedure. The waterproof rubber material will prevent any liquids, saliva, or chemicals from penetrating to the surface beneath.
Step 6 – Remove After Procedure After the procedure is complete, carefully remove the sheet by folding inward to contain any contamination. Avoid shaking the sheet to prevent spreading of contaminants.
Step 7 – Clean & Disinfect Rinse the sheet thoroughly under running water. Clean with a mild detergent or soap solution, scrubbing gently on both sides. Rinse again and wipe with an approved surface disinfectant solution. Allow adequate contact time as per the disinfectant manufacturer's instructions.
Step 8 – Dry & Store Allow the sheet to air dry completely before storing. Once dry, fold neatly and store in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight, sharp objects, and excessive heat to preserve the rubber material's integrity.
⚠️ Care Instructions:
- Do not use sharp instruments directly on the sheet as it may puncture or tear the rubber surface
- Avoid exposure to strong chemical solvents, bleach, or high heat as these can degrade the rubber material
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry
- Store away from direct sunlight to prevent rubber deterioration
- Inspect regularly — replace if the sheet shows signs of cracking, tearing, or loss of waterproofing
- For professional clinical use only
