What is SDF and how does it work?

Silver Diamine Fluoride arrests caries through dual action — silver ions kill cariogenic bacteria, while fluoride promotes remineralisation of the arrested caries lesion, halting further decay without drilling.
Will it stain the teeth black?

Yes — SDF permanently stains arrested carious lesions black. Healthy enamel is not stained. Informed consent from patient/guardian is essential before application.
Is it suitable for children?

Yes — e-SDF is ideally suited for young children, anxious patients, and special needs patients where conventional cavity preparation is not possible.
How often should it be applied?

Biannual application (every 6 months) is recommended for sustained caries arrest. Annual application is also effective but less so than biannual.
How many applications per bottle?

Approximately 100 applications — one drop treats 4–5 teeth per application.
