Direction To Use
Preparation:
Gather all necessary materials, including the Maarc Impression Compound, water bath, impression tray, and any additional tools needed for the specific impression technique.
Softening the Compound:
Heat water in a water bath to approximately 60°C.
Immerse the Maarc Impression Compound in the heated water for a few minutes until it softens and becomes pliable. Ensure it does not overheat or melt completely.
Preparing the Tray:
Select the appropriate impression tray for the patient's mouth.
Ensure the tray is clean and dry before applying the softened compound.
Applying the Compound:
Remove the softened compound from the water bath and knead it gently to ensure even consistency.
Place the softened compound into the impression tray, spreading it evenly to cover the entire tray surface.
Taking the Impression:
Position the tray in the patient’s mouth, ensuring it covers the area to be impressed.
Press the tray gently but firmly against the oral tissues, allowing the compound to flow and adapt to the anatomical structures.
Hold the tray in position for a few minutes until the compound cools and hardens.
Removing the Tray:
Carefully remove the tray from the patient’s mouth once the compound has fully cooled and hardened.
Inspect the impression for any defects or areas that may need retaking.
Finalizing the Impression:
If necessary, trim any excess material from the impression using a suitable tool.
Disinfect the impression according to standard dental protocols before sending it to the laboratory for further processing.
Cleaning Up:
Clean and disinfect all tools and equipment used during the procedure.
Dispose of any waste material appropriately.
Some additional tips:
The compound should be softened to a uniform plasticity before loading into the tray.
Ensure the impression tray is properly adapted to the patient's arch before taking the impression.
Use a light coating of petroleum jelly on the tray to facilitate easy removal of the set impression.
