Direction To Use

Etch Surface
Etch the porcelain or ceramic surface using hydrofluoric acid (e.g., MAARC HF-Gel) as per standard protocol, then rinse thoroughly and dry.

Clean and Dry
Ensure the etched surface is clean, free of debris, and completely dry before applying the silane.

Apply Silane
Dispense a small amount of Maarc Silane Coupling Agent onto a brush or applicator and evenly coat the etched porcelain surface.

Allow Reaction
Let the silane sit on the surface for about 60 seconds to allow proper chemical interaction.

Dry the Surface
Gently air-dry the surface to remove excess solvent, leaving a thin, uniform silane layer ready for bonding.

Proceed with Bonding
Apply adhesive or resin cement over the treated surface and complete the restoration according to clinical protocol.

What is silane used for?

Applied to HF-etched ceramic to create a chemical bridge between ceramic silica and resin cement — maximising adhesive bond strength and restoration longevity.
When is it applied?

After HF etching thorough rinsing and complete drying of ceramic surface — before bonding agent or resin cement application.
How applied?

Apply one coat to etched ceramic with micro applicator. Allow 60 seconds reaction. Air dry gently. Apply bonding agent or cement immediately.
Does it work on zirconia?

No — for silica-containing ceramics only (feldspar, leucite, lithium disilicate). Use MDP-based primer for zirconia.
For orthodontic bracket bonding?

Yes — used as primer after ceramic etching before bonding orthodontic brackets to ceramic surfaces.
